Asp or asp.net

I dont know anything about asp.net but i am familiar with asp. Before i spend time learning more... which would do you all recommend is better to learn for now?

I think asp.net is better and you should spend further time learning asp.net. It contains a large set of HTML controls and its components are heavily based on XML.
